Inspiration Monday: Vintage MallsJul 29 2013 · 0 comments · Articles, Inspiration Monday, Stationery
As an artist, you constantly have to feed your mind with awesome imagery that you can reference later. Vintage malls are amazing repositories for past trends and tried and true design concepts. Not only are they packed full of one of all kind treasures, you can literally go back in time and revisit what was popular back in the day. What more can you ask for on a lazy Saturday afternoon? I get great color combination, font, and imagery ideas when I stop by my local shops. A visit can spark a new idea or help resolve a design dilemma that I have been tossing around for weeks. Vintage malls are hidden gems chock-full of inspiration. Visit one this week and tell me about your experience.
This week I was inspired by:
- vintage art deco perfume bottles;
- JC de Castelbajac/Paris France graphic cubism women’s blouse;
- vintage phonograph album covers (Bill Cosby – A Very Funny Fellow and Run DMC-Mary Mary).
