What I Love! “I love the fact that I’m able to use my creative gift and my talent, and share it with world” ~ Christoff Davis
Now that we’ve discussed time-management let’s discuss things that sap your energy. I call these things time-sucks. These are distractions that run afoul of your time. When you identify people or things that are draining your energy and wasting your time, you have got to make a change!
Like many modern women, I’m extremely busy. When I’m taking a break, I’m often thinking about what’s left on my to-do list. One of the biggest gaps I’ve identified in my daily schedule is time-management. The greater my responsibilities, the worse my time management skills become.
???You did it!!!!! You made it through the first work week of 2016 and you survived. ???
December 6th from 12-4 PM in the Bishop Arts District, The Art of Chanel Christoff Davis, ushered in the Christmas Season at the CocoAndre Chocaltier Holiday Vendor Fair. The event was held at an actual Chocolate Factory featuring local female-owned independent businesses. We had a great time shopping and networking with other artists. Enjoy!
The holiday season is upon us and it’s time to deck the halls. One thing I am excited about, is getting my bar hostess ready. My theme this year is glamour & drama. My colors for the season are silver & gold.

Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic
at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
Sep 20, 2015 – Jan 10, 2016
His work can be seen in the TV Show Empire as well as over 40 museums, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Seattle Art Museum; Brooklyn Museum; and Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Kehinde Wiley was born in Los Angeles, earning a BFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 1999 and an MFA from Yale University in 2001.
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic, an overview highlighting the range of the artist’s prolific 14-year career and comprising approximately 60 works. The exhibition begins with early examples of paintings inspired by Wiley’s observations of street life in Harlem. In subsequent work, Wiley further examines the European tradition of portraiture, taking specific paintings by renowned masters such as Titian, Van Dyck, and Manet and replacing the historical subjects with contemporary, young black men sporting fashionable urban gear. These likenesses are set against ornate, decorative backgrounds on large canvases — part of Wiley’s signature style — in order to raise issues of class in addition to race and gender. A New Republic also includes a selection from the artist’s ongoing World Stage project, examples of his bronze busts, and a chapel-like structure that showcases his new stained-glass “paintings.”
Repost, because it’s Fall, it’s Sunday, it’s GOOD!!!
. . .
My family loves this soup. Yaka mein is a New Orleans tradition and I grew up eating it. The beauty of this soup is how simple it is to prepare. It’s such a simple recipe for a huge payoff. You can literally stop at the grocery on your way home and have dinner on the table in one-hour. The best!
You prepare your stock with meat and put all of the fixings on the side – don’t add the fixings to your pot (fixings: boiled eggs, green onions, noodles, hot sauce, and soy sauce). I used chicken and shrimp in my soup, so you can be creative with the protein. Post the pictures when you make this soup (#ChristoffDavis). Yumsters!
