What I Love! “I love the fact that I’m able to use my creative gift and my talent, and share it with world” ~ Christoff Davis
It’s been 2 years since I started my art business. I love to create and I appreciate art in all forms. Who would have thought I would have gotten to this place when I started out on this adventure 2 years ago?
Thanks for sharing in my journey!

My week on Instagram was Awesome!
It’s a new year full of possibilities. I’m looking forward to new opportunities, partnerships, collaborations, and creativity. I’ve been planning my next painting series and it promises to be my greatest collection of paintings thus far. Along with documenting my preliminary sketches and noting my thoughts throughout the creation of this new series, I am challenging myself to record my creative process. Look out for some videos taking you into my art studio showing you how I do what I do.
It’s a great honor to have been invited to exhibit my most current works of art at ArtSpace Gallery Dallas. The show is called “Sunsets” and features my view of one of God’s greatest natural wonders. I’m in awe of the sunsets that I am blessed to take in daily and decided to capture their beauty on canvas.
Come out and meet me for the Artist Reception – Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 6 – 9pm. ArtSpace at Metropolitan Press 6400 Maple Avenue Suite 180, Dallas Texas 75235. For details call 214-635-3131. If you are in Dallas, I hope to see you there!
“Sunsets” featuring the Art of Chanel Christoff Davis opens August 4, 2014 and runs until August 22, 2014.
Blooms on Black, is my new series of gorgeous watercolor paintings done in a vibrant colorful palate and set against a blueish black backdrop. Using an abstracted view of the subject-matter, some paintings in this series may cause you to look deeper and ask, “Wait, what is that?”
In keeping with my previous collections, my color palette is bold and modern. Comment below and tell me what you think about this series. Your feedback is welcomed.

One of my favorite steps in this art process is, PRESS CHECK DAY!!!!! I bring all of my original paintings and check the colors of my art prints. I am super picky and I do my best to get as close to the original painting as possible. It’s such a rewarding process and always lifts my day. Here are some pictures from one of my press checks at the printers.

April is National Letter Writing month. This is an annual effort to promote literacy and celebrate the art of letter writing. To celebrate, I am doing two things this year. I will catch up on all of handwritten “thank you” notes. Also, I am introducing my 10 year old daughter to writing thank you notes and letters. We created a special stationery box just for her and I gave her a special silver pen to store with her personal stationery collection. I’m passing on a tradition that has existed for centuries. Teaching your child to write thank you notes is also a great way to teach children how to practice gratitude. That’s a gift your child will carry with them for a lifetime.
I personally love receiving a handwritten note and sadly with the invention of technology it has become a lost art. I believe we can bring this tradition back.
How do practice and teach gratitude to your children? Please share below.
