The holiday season is upon us and it’s time to deck the halls. One thing I am excited about, is getting my bar hostess ready. My theme this year is glamour & drama. My colors for the season are silver & gold.

I love the poem “Litany of Our Lady” by Brenda Marie Osbey. Here is an except:
our lady of tired buildings listing to one side
and brick-between-cypress posts that simply will stand
as houses themselves give way around falling-down stairs
leaving only a something
a memory of a structure
of spanish-tiled roofs and batten shutters
in a swamp
of a city
of ironworks and of plaster
o, lady lady
our lady of anything

The summer is officially here! I am trying to enjoy this the summer before the heat becomes unbearable. One thing that I love especially is that my favorite color is on full display. Cobalt BLUE makes my heart sing!
Show me your colors…what hue is giving you life right now?
I love to learn. I joke that if I could afford to, I would have been a lifelong college student. This weekend I started watercolor classes on-line. Although I’m falling in love with watercolor, it’s a really challenging medium. If you are a control freak like me, watercolor can drive you mad because it has a mind of its own. Check out my first watercolors below.

Fashion and art goes hand-in-hand. Fortunately for me, the Golden Globes 2014 did not disappoint. I know blogs are going bonkers over the fashions, so I will not go into best/worst dressed. I just wanted to share what caught my eye. Illustrations by Chanel Christoff Davis.

I have been participating in a couple letter-writing campaigns during the month of October designed to encourage paper lovers to send more mail. Apparently, paper lovers hoard stationery and refuse to send them out into the world. I’ve managed to send 15 handwritten personal notes during the month of October. It was a bit of a challenge, but it was fun no-less. To make this challenge extra exciting, everyone who shared their mailing address with me during October, will be entered into a drawing for a FAB prize from Christoff Davis. The drawing will be held November 1, 2013.
Check out both campaigns below and Send More Mail people!!!!!!
Rock Paper Scissors based in Michigan hosted the Send More Mail campaign.
