Part 1: New Year, New You – Time ManagementJan 19 2016 · 0 comments · Always Learning, Articles, Christoff Davis, How-Tos, Inspiration, Planner Community
Like many modern women, I’m extremely busy. When I’m taking a break, I’m often thinking about what’s left on my to-do list. One of the biggest gaps I’ve identified in my daily schedule is time-management. The greater my responsibilities, the worse my time management skills become.
This year I decided to try something new. I’m keeping a proper planner/calendar. Not just any planner, it’s a “fancy” planner. I first noticed this new trend on Instagram. I started following some great planner divas such as @504prettythings, @PoshPlans, @SparklenPlan, and @MamaFashionistaPlans. Follow these ladies on Instagram to see some serious planner inspiration!
These ladies have got it together. They know how to plan while having fun. Planning, tracking, and making lists can feel daunting at times, but not using this method. I’ve discovered that using creativity to organize my life takes the stress out of it. Now, creating my to-do list starts with decorating the page. I ask myself:
- What’s your current mood?
- How do you feel about the upcoming week?
- What’s on the horizon?
Then I choose my theme for the week. I also try to pick a scripture for the week. The scripture normally mimics struggles I am currently facing. If I need more FAITH, LOVE, JOY, I find a scripture that addresses that issue. I refer back to this scripture several times during the week.
Join me next week for Part 2! I’m going discuss a couple of journal prompts that I added to my planner for 2016. I think you will enjoy the read. Stay tuned!!!!
What new systems or processes are you implementing in 2016 to keep you organized and on task? Please share in the comments.
